I was just browsing the web when I somehow found this girls tumblr. I saw that she had a mixtape so I figured, why not download it and I'm so glad I did. I have been listening to it for about 3 weeks straight and still not tired of it. She has some amazing covers of Mos Def's "The Panties" and Bob Marley's "Is This Love." To me, her music is a good mix of corrine bailey rae, res, and adele.

For the past month or so i been going OFF to nina sky's new EP "the other side" in my car. I could not believe this was the same girls from back in 04. Supposedly they broke away from their label and are working independently which i think is one of the best moves they ever made. Their look did a complete 180. In my opinion it was always in them but it seems like due to label issues they weren't able to "do them." (what do i kno)

So right now i'm keepin my eyes open to see if they are going to do in a show in Atlanta which i think is greatly needed.

Esthero has one of the most soulful and peaceful voices i have ever heard. I don't think i will ever get tired of hearing this song. It calms my nerves and puts me to sleep like a baby! I would love to see her and Common do a track together. Both of their music brings forth very interesting, yet sensual emotions; a distinct quality of good music. The way an Artist makes another person feel as a result is VITAL. Makes you question yourself about what you've been listening to huh ....?

New Album: Res 'Black Girls Rock'

I was so happy when i found out that Res released a new album via her twitter (@the1res). It was actually released back in October but better late than never. What i love about her music is that it really withdraws emotion which is what i believe art is supposed to do. She wrote this new album entirely herself with the assistance of a few others. It's a good album but isn't as great as her first. If you haven't listened to her first album, 'How I Do', please do so because it is a certified classic. I been listening to that album since 2001 and im still not tired of it.

New Idle Warship Mixtape: Party Robot

The long awaited Idle Warship Mixtape, Party Robot was released yesturday and it's dope. If you didn't know, Idle Warship is a group consisting of Talib Kweli, Res, and Graph Nobel. All of them, in my opinion are some of the most under-rated artists in the industry right now. The mixtape is great, i only wish it was longer. Their music is like LA nights meets NYC and Philly; a great combination that makes Idle Warship.
