Temperley London Spring 2010 Zoetrope
Designer, Alice Temperley took a very classic yet innovated route to showcase her Spring/Summer 2010 collection this year at fashion week. She teamed up with Milk Studios where they came up with the idea to showcase her pieces in a Zoetrope. A Zoetrope is a cylindar device that creates the illusion of movement from a series of still pictures. The Zoetrope took a month to build and resulted in a 12 foot cylinder that included 15 looks. The zoetrope was the centerpiece of the show, sitting in the middle of a white cyc with its projection against the opposite wall.

September Issue
If you don't know who Anna Wintour is, then...idk, I'm lost for words. She is like the HEAD of the fashion industry and the woman that I wish i could say i have her number in my contact list. If you don't know about this woman, long story short, she is the Editor and Chief of Vogue Magazine. Most people are probably shocked to hear that she even allowed a documentary to be filmed about her because you rarely hear her speak publicly. According to it's youtube page, the movie was released August 28, 2009.

RIP John Hughes

omg. this man ran the movies of the 80's. Until today, I wasn't too fond of who he was and wasn't aware that he directed almost all the movies that are under my list of favorites. His movies were hilarious and always entertaining. Even though i grew up during the 90's, his movies were a big part of my childhood. I swear i could watch those movies over and over again.

Some of his movies include "Curly Sue", "Home Alone", "Wierd Science", "Ferris Buellers Day Off", "Breakfast Club", "Pretty in Pink", "Mr.Mom", "Uncle Buck", "Sixteen Candles", "Dennis the Menace"...the list goes on! Unfortunately he passed away yesterday of a heart attack. Here are some clips of my top 2 movies by him:

Precious
Wow, i have no words for this trailer alone. I don't think there will be anyone who will watch this and say that they cannot relate. I am so eager to see this movie. The fact that it was directed by Tyler Perry and Oprah says enough. It is about a young girl who faces challenges from not only the outside world but also at home. They are not ordinary challenges such as getting good grades, or making enough money to sustain a desired way of living, but the challenges that a person can face with themselves like self love and worth. Without that any human being can become a hazard to themselves. I encourage everyone to watch this movie. Just watching this trailer enabled me to relate in some ways and even realize that my actions and words can effect someones perception of themselves and lives. Love is powerful, a simple smile or "how you feeling?" can change someones negative energy to a positive one.
